Metal
Most bare metals can be laser marked with the use of marking compounds. Anodized aluminum can be directly marked with a laser and the high contrast image produced is ideal for serial tags, identification plates and two-dimensional barcodes. Laser marking on metal delivers highly durable marks without sacrificing material integrity.
Metal Types
Alumamark™, anodized aluminum, carbide, coated metals, brass, cobalt, copper, iron, nickel, pewter, stainless steel, steel, titanium, tungsten.
Metal Marking
Laser mark tools and other high value assets with custom logos, artwork, ID and serial numbers, barcodes, UID codes and 2D matrix codes. Laser systems are great tools for etching anodized aluminum instruments and control panels, as well as consumer electronics like iPods and cell phones. Anodized military-style tags are great for personalizing. Some bare metals can even be marked directly with a laser system using Universal’s High Power Density Focusing Optics (HPDFO)™
Metal Marking Compounds
Most metals can be laser marked by first applying a marking compound to the metal surface. The laser beam fuses the marking compound with the metal, leaving behind a dark mark (almost black) that does not rub off and is not affected by cleaners and solvents.
